I am pleased to announce that JANICE WALKER INTERIORS is on the move (again)! At the beginning of October, we will be relocating to join Bishop’s of Driffield and Direct Flooring in Driffield. Our pattern books will be in the front area of the furniture showroom at Bishops and the sewing room will be in the rear of that building. This premises is just a few doors away from our previous shop and the new address is; 43 Middle Street North, Driffield, YO25 6SS.

All our services remain unchanged;
Telephone number; 01377 256687
Shop mobile; 07866 423552

Our pattern books will be available for you to view during Bishop’s opening times which are;
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 9am to 4pm, Saturday 9am to 3pm & Wednesday 9am to 1pm.

Rachael will be available to help you select fabrics Monday to Friday and I can be available by prior appointment.
We will still offer our full measuring, making and fitting service. Many of my customers are also Direct Flooring and Bishops customers and we felt it would be good to ‘pool resources’ with Daniel & Emma Unna and Chris Lowey to give customers a ‘one stop shop’ to furnish their homes.

We will be operating from these premises in Mid-October and this will mean that there is time to place your order for pre-Christmas deliveries.

Just a reminder of what we have to offer;
Use of pattern books to select fabrics from leading fabric companies.
Home measuring and consultation service.
In house making service to your exact requirements
Supply and fitting of poles by our fitters.
Delivery and hanging of furnishings to complete the project.
We make roman blinds, curtains, pelmets, bed furnishings and cushions and we also provide and fit roller, vertical and wood blinds and have a selection of wallpaper books.

We look forward to seeing you at our new premises.

Wing Walk for Marie Curie

After one cancellation caused by adverse weather, on Sunday 21st June Janice undertook a Wing Walk – every bit as daring as it sounds – see the illustration below. She had been preparing for it for some time with one of the criteria that has had to be met being some weight loss as there was a maximum weight for those undertaking this ‘daring deed’. She is raising money for the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity; she has recently had close family members effected by cancer.

Janice was pleased and relieved to able to complete the Wing Walk she had decided to do to raise money for the Marie Curie charity. The Wing Walk had had to be put back by a week as the weather was just too poor for it to take place on the original date. The delay meant another week of very careful eating as there was a strict weight limit for those completing the challenge. There was also a change of airfield from the original Wickenby to Breighton but a group of friends were still able to attend and cheer Janice on. Confessing to some degree of nerves Janice had a last briefing at 1.30pm before take off. She found the experience totally exhilarating and is delighted that it will hopefully have made some £4,000 for the charity, considerably exceeding her initial expectations.

Many friends and valued customers have already sponsored Janice. Her page on the Just Giving website was included in their top 1% of donation pages for May, and her original target has been well exceeded. But, it is certainly not too late for anyone who would like to make a donation which can be easily done by clicking onto the Marie Curie image.
